WHY ANTIOCH?
The good shelter space we needed at Shawnee Mission Park is
taken, and the other sites out there are near hazardous water.
Antioch Park is fairly central to the alumni area, and easily
accessible. We'll make do, even if parking is a problem.*
It'll be a
perfect BYOE (BRING YOUR OWN EVERYTHING) opportunity to catch
up on all the stuff you didn't have time to finish gabbing
about on Saturday night. Please help to pass this information
on to the un-wired among you - we might not be able to get
this out in a flyer/mailer before the reunion.
SUGGESTED
ITEMS to bring to the picnic (not a complete list, but these
are things you might have learned in high school, had you been
paying attention... )
*Your own
parking space (if you don't get there early, you may have to
drop your stuff, park at K-Mart (don't worry, we'll find a
good, approved spot by July) and hoof it back to the park...)
*Folding
Chairs
*Folding
Tables (because there are only so many picnic tables there)
*Picnic/Beach
Umbrellas
*Blankets
*Portable
Tent Flys or Shelters (in case we overflow the gazebo)
*Sunscreen
*Frisbees
(there are no ball fields there)
*Volleyball
Gear (I don't spike, but I bump and set pretty well)
*Cameras
*Bug Spray
*Food (we'll
see what we can provide, but plan bring your own picnic
favorites)
*Trash Bags -
enough to handle your own stuff - please try to take your
trash out of the park with you.
*Kids (not
required, but bring 'em if ya got 'em)
