Casting - We'll blame it on our parents

Mark your calendar for the weekend of July 24th, 1999. (I know, we posted the weekend of July 30th, but that plan got changed... go figure. Tell it to the committee. Run it up the flagpole and see who salutes. Be there or be square.)

Friday, July 23rd, 1999

  • Scene 1 & 2 - Meet *somewhere* for drinks, dancing and lotsa lotsa hobnobbing.

Saturday, July 24th, 1999

  • Scene III - THE MAIN EVENT - Dinner at Homestead Country Club (6510 Mission Road in Prairie Village)

Sunday, July 25th, 1999

  • Scene IV - The Finale.  Rating - "PG".  We're registered with the park district to host the picnic (Sunday, July 25th, 1999) at Antioch Park's gazebo. Further details will be posted here prior to the reunion weekend.

WHY ANTIOCH? The good shelter space we needed at Shawnee Mission Park is taken, and the other sites out there are near hazardous water. Antioch Park is fairly central to the alumni area, and easily accessible. We'll make do, even if parking is a problem.*

It'll be a perfect BYOE (BRING YOUR OWN EVERYTHING) opportunity to catch up on all the stuff you didn't have time to finish gabbing about on Saturday night. Please help to pass this information on to the un-wired among you - we might not be able to get this out in a flyer/mailer before the reunion.

SUGGESTED ITEMS to bring to the picnic (not a complete list, but these are things you might have learned in high school, had you been paying attention... )

*Your own parking space (if you don't get there early, you may have to drop your stuff, park at K-Mart (don't worry, we'll find a good, approved spot by July) and hoof it back to the park...)

    *Folding Chairs

*Folding Tables (because there are only so many picnic tables there)

    *Picnic/Beach Umbrellas

    *Blankets

*Portable Tent Flys or Shelters (in case we overflow the gazebo)

    *Sunscreen

*Frisbees (there are no ball fields there)

*Volleyball Gear (I don't spike, but I bump and set pretty well)

    *Cameras

    *Bug Spray

*Food (we'll see what we can provide, but plan bring your own picnic favorites)

*Trash Bags - enough to handle your own stuff - please try to take your trash out of the park with you.

*Kids (not required, but bring 'em if ya got 'em)
